Warehouse & Logistics Associate

Mintech Distributors Ltd. is seeking a reliable, organised, and customer-focused Warehouse & Logistics Associate to join our Warehouse & Operations team.

This is a full-time, permanent position combining warehouse operations and delivery logistics. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring customer orders are accurately prepared and dispatched, while also completing deliveries and pickups safely, efficiently, and professionally.

What You'll Do

Warehouse Operations

  • Pick, pack, label, and prepare customer orders accurately.
  • Prepare packing slips and other required shipping documentation.
  • Receive and inspect incoming goods, checking quantities, condition, and labelling.
  • Report damaged, missing, or incorrectly labelled goods and inventory discrepancies.
  • Restock and organise warehouse inventory.
  • Participate in scheduled inventory counts.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Assist the Showroom team with product retrieval and order check-offs.
  • Support initiatives to improve warehouse efficiency and productivity.

Deliveries & Logistics

  • Complete scheduled customer deliveries and pickups according to daily routes.
  • Safely load and unload delivery vehicles.
  • Verify goods and invoices before departure and upon delivery.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries and pickups.
  • Communicate with customers regarding delivery times, access arrangements, and special instructions.
  • Handle returns and collected items, documenting their condition and reporting discrepancies.
  • Complete out-of-town deliveries and pickups when required.
  • Use Google Maps or similar navigation tools to plan and adjust routes.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, security, and roadworthiness of assigned vehicles.
  • Promptly report accidents, traffic violations, vehicle damage, or other incidents.
  • Comply with all Jamaican road traffic laws.

General Responsibilities

  • Complete daily task and activity records.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and operating systems.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Report workplace hazards, incidents, and near-misses promptly.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across warehouse and logistics operations.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Education & Qualifications

  • Five (5) CXC General Proficiency passes, including English Language and Mathematics, or equivalent.
  • An Associate Degree or certification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Valid General Proficiency Driver's Licence — essential.

Experience

  • At least 2 years' experience in warehouse, logistics, distribution, or a related environment is preferred.
  • Experience driving both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Good knowledge of local roads and experience with route management.

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, etc.).
  • General computer literacy and ability to use web-based systems.
  • Ability to use Google Maps or similar navigation tools.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret invoices, picking lists, labels, and delivery documentation.
  • Experience with barcode scanners or inventory management systems is an advantage.

Physical & Work Requirements

This is an active, hands-on role. You must be able to:

  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Stand, walk, and work on the warehouse floor for extended periods.
  • Drive for extended periods when required by delivery schedules.
  • Work extended hours when operational requirements demand it.
  • Work at locations outside the main facility when required.
