It may be appropriate to conduct an exchange if an unworn, resaleable item is returned within the 6-week return period in its original packaging, and the customer wants a different size or model in return, or if a warranty is applicable.
There are many different situations that are applicable to exchanges, and as such, the following must be considered:
- Customer’s terms
- Cash (COD)
- Purchase Order rules
- Availability of desired exchange items
- Integrity of the returned item
- Payment status of the invoice of issue
- Price differences between the returned item and the item selected for potential replacement
